In 2014, Lauren graduated from North Island College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Shortly afterward, she relocated to the mainland to refine her skills as a new nurse, delving into a specialty in critical care and spending three years in the ICU.

Upon returning to Vancouver Island in 2019, Lauren shifted into post-anesthetic recovery nursing and completed further education in renal dialysis. Her commitment to lifelong learning is evident, particularly in aesthetic nursing. Lauren’s genuine commitment to client care is apparent in her approach. Drawing on her nursing experience, she delivers safe and meticulous care while providing a comfortable environment, always striving to meet clients’ unique needs and goals. This dedication extends to her role at Rise Medical Aesthetics, where she aims to consistently bring her patients’ best face forward.

Before entering the nursing field, Lauren’s passion for enhancing people’s beauty and confidence was evident in her work as an aesthetician and makeup artist. My name is Shawna and I was born and raised in Nanaimo, B.C. I have been a Registered Nurse in this community for the last 7 years and completed my Bachelor of Nursing Degree at Vancouver Island University in 2015. Soon after graduation, I found a passion for Emergency Nursing and went on to finish my speciality Emergency Nursing training through BCIT. In addition to my Medical Aesthetics practice, I continue to work in Nanaimo Regional General Hospital’s Emergency Department.

I have always had a strong passion for Medical Aesthetics and have dreamed of providing these services to my community. Hello my name is Leah Dumaine. I am passionate and enthusiastic for anti-aging and skin rejuvenation. This has led me to become an Aesthetic Nurse Specialist in 2007. I attend numerous conferences, education sessions and article reviews several times a year. This ensures that my knowledge is always current in this exciting field when new technologies, procedures and specialized products are continually advancing.
